Take ACTION: A Rally Cry To Get You Off the Couch
Most people don’t fail because they’re lazy. They fail because they’re overwhelmed, stuck in their heads, or trying to fight off life with a foam roller and a podcast.
I’ve been there.
I built this acronym not from a TED Talk, but from miles on the trail, years of starting over, and enough emotional meltdowns to warrant a punch card.
This isn’t some cheesy “10x your life” bro-post. This is real. If you’re ready to get unstuck, this is where we start:
With a little bit of ACTION!
A – Acknowledge the Difficulty
You’re not broken for struggling. Starting is hard. Change is hard. Hell, sometimes brushing your teeth is hard.
Acknowledge that. Say it out loud. Whisper it into your coffee mug. Scream it into the void if you need to.
Naming the hard stuff doesn’t make you weak—it’s the only way you get stronger.
C – Challenge Your Limitations
The voice in your head that says you can’t? It’s lying.
Your limitations may be real—but so is your ability to break through them. One inch at a time. One mile. One awkward attempt at a push-up where your dog thinks you’re dying.
If you never question the story, you’ll keep living the same damn chapter.
T – Train Your Body AND Your Mind
You can’t out-think your way into growth. You’ve got to move.
And not just physically—mentally too. Read things that stretch you. Try something that scares you a little. Run when you’d rather wallow. Rest when you’d rather run.
Training isn’t punishment. It’s practice. For the life you want to build.
I – Imagine the Possibilities (Then Improve Incrementally)
First: dream bigger. What if it did work out? What if you could? Let your brain wander into the what-ifs that don’t end in disaster.
Then: get practical. Take the dream, and shrink it into the smallest, stupidest next step.
You improve incrementally—like a trail runner eating a cold quesadilla at mile 82. One bite at a time, baby.
O – Obstacles Are Temporary
Pain, setbacks, rejections—they suck. But they don’t last forever.
That hill you’re climbing? There’s a view on the other side.
And sometimes the best stories come from the worst detours.
N – Nothing Comes Easy
You already know this. But we all need the reminder.
Anything worth doing will make you want to quit at least twice. Maybe more. That’s not failure—that’s friction. That’s how you know you’re getting somewhere.
Don’t wait for it to be easy. Just decide it’s worth it.
Whether you’re launching a business, climbing out of depression, training for your first race, or just trying to make it to next week without face-planting in life—remember this:
You don’t need to be fearless. You just need to take ACTION!
Start now. Start messy. Start where you are.
Let’s go!
